Summer 2025 Drivers Education at PHCS Interest Form
Filling out this form only indicates interest, it does not guarantee you a spot or commit you to the course.
We are in the process of filling our Driver Education class for Summer 2025. You must hold a valid NYS permit or license by June 1st to participate. Please read the entire form, discuss it with a parent, and complete the necessary questions by March 21st. Filling out this form does not guarantee a spot in the class, but you cannot be in the class if you do not complete this form. You will be notified if you are accepted into the Driver Ed class, as we can only enroll 20 students and priority will go to Parishville-Hopkinton students.
Mr. Cannamela will be teaching the course. Students are required to have 24 hours of classroom time and 24 hours of in-car time. This will be broken up into sixteen 90 minute sessions of class and sixteen 90 minute sessions of in-car time. State regulations do not allow us to exceed 90 minutes per day for classes or in-car sessions. All classes and in-car time are mandatory, schedules will be developed based on student availability.
The course is free for PHCS students. Passing the course allows you nighttime driving privileges at age 17 instead of 18, and may lower your insurance costs.
Out-of-District Students: There is a $575 fee to take the course. The Guidance Office will be in touch to make arrangements for paying this fee if you are accepted.
The form will open at 11:15am on Wednesday, February 26th.
