Middle school students in Mr. Carter Eldridge's class were tasked with creating a 3D print that could double as a casting pattern. They had to design the part then use Autodesk Inventor to create the file, then convert the file using Cura software. Finally, the students had to print the part using the Ultimaker 3D printer.

Once the part was printed, they prepared sand casting molds using the casting bench and tools. After the molds were prepared, they were poured (see video). Now the molds will have to cool and the castings removed, inspected for defects and surfaced.

We can't wait to see the finished products!
